The Trinity Dome Mosaic
This special casebound hardcover book commemorates the Trinity Dome Mosaic. The Mosaic was first begun in May of 1920. If you are unfamiliar with the Trinity Dome, it serves as the largest dome mounted atop the National Shrine. The Dome itself is meant to be the pride of the church and displays several sacred images: the Most Holy Trinity, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Immaculate Conception itself. Along with these images, a procession of saints associated with both America and the National Shrine itself will be displayed.
A Thank You
After we completed the book, we were sent an incredible thank you by Dr. Geraldine M. Rohling – Dr. Rohling serves as the Archivist-Curator at the Basilica. The book was a labor of love for her, springing from a two-year project you can observe through the pictures. Dr. Rohling was both the photographer for the project and the person responsible for overseeing its completion.
According to Dr. Rohling, the print job we did was absolutely “perfect”, and that the Rector of the church was impressed by how well it all turned out. Despite numerous changes submitted just before printing, the changes were gracefully and expertly done to deliver “quality work in timely fashion” despite all of the “extra time and effort” that was necessary to finish it in such a wonderful way.
Perhaps the most incredible part of the book’s creation is that copy will be delivered to the Pope, one of the highest honors any of our custom book projects can receive.
